Information About our Fred Astaire Dance Studios Instructors
  Teresa (T.J.)- Director Teresa originally began dancing at the age of 6, at the Betty Jane Turner School of Dance. She is well versed in all forms of art, from dancing to music, and theater to fine art. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Art, she joined Fred Astaire Dance Studios as an instructor four years ago. In that time she has had the opportunity to study with world reknown professionals and coaches. She actively competes professionally in American Smooth. In November of 2005, she opened the South Windsor studio with the hopes of sharing her passion for dancing with the South Windsor community.
Courtney - Instructor Courtney has studied dance through her child hood and now has joined the Fred Astaire team to help share the excitement that dancing has to offer. Courtney has her pilots license, and is working to obtain her instrument rating. She is able to use her experience as a pilot to help present information to students in a clear and fun, easy way. Courtney is currently choreographing the next studio showcase, to be performed at the New England Regional Competition in August.
Meghan- Instructor Meghan grew up in Berlin, Connecticut. She went to the University of Connecticut and graduated in May 2006 with a bachelor degree in Creative Writing and minored in English. Meghan took interest in dancing at a very young age. She still continues her love for dancing as well as theater arts, modeling and writing.
Dawn - Office Staff
Dawn is a member of our great office staff. She loves to come in, work hard, and make us laugh. Her goal is to help us keep things in order. We rely on her to be a super-duper-paper-work sorter. She has been known to volunteer time in her community; from soup kitchens, to rescue squads, she was even an EMT. For fourteen years, she built a career as a successful facilities planner, Silly girl, she thought her degree in Architecture and Design was all about glamour. She loved what she did, but there was something else that she longed for. It was to have children, and she did; not one, not two, not three, but four. So when you come in, you’ll see her as soon as you open our door, Take a minute to say hello, before you get busy out on the dance floor.
Samantha- Office Staff/ Receptionist Sam is a south windsor high school student who joins us several nights a week to keep the office running smoothly throughout the evening. Stop by and introduce yourself and grab your folder!
